Trojans get official football practice underway with good turnout of about 90 players

West Brunswick began preseason practice for the 2025 football season on Wednesday morning.

Coach Shane Handy said approximately 90 players were on hand for junior varsity and varsity.

“We got hit by the heat a little bit but we got most of our practice in,” Handy said.

The Trojans are in helmets and shorts for two days, according to state regulations. Then there will be two days in helmets and shoulder pads. Full gear and hitting begins on the sixth day.

West hosts Trask for a scrimmage on August 8 at 9 a.m.

The Trojans will welcome 13 teams for the Bash at the Beach Jamboree on August 14-15.
