Shallotte had plenty of offense in a season-opening 44-28 middle school football win over Cedar Grove at West Brunswick, but Week 2 was a defensive battle with Town Creek at Shallotte on Tuesday.
The visitors prevailed, 14-8.
Nolan Abbott scored the touchdown for the hosts and Hunter Fortenberry got the 2-point conversion.
Shallotte (1-1) returns to action on September 23 at South Brunswick.
