— Coach Sam Hickman said his team would “drink in the experience” as the Shallotte AAA (10-and-under) All-Stars represent North Carolina as state Diamond Youth Baseball champions in the World Series in Lexington County, South Carolina. — Cal Raleigh hit his 42nd homer of the season for Seattle on Thursday night in a 6-0 win over visiting Texas, the most in MLB history in a season by a switch-hitting catcher.
