Blake Andrews had a 2-run homer to lead the host Shallotte Majors (12-and-under) All-Stars to a 5-1 win over Pleasure Island in an elimination game Sunday at Ocean Isle Park in the Diamond Youth Baseball Division 2 state tournament.
The Shallotte Majors team meets Kenansville on Field 2 in an elimination contest on Monday at 7 p.m.
The Shallotte AAA (10-and-under) team also plays an elimination contest on Monday, facing Pleasure Island on Field 1 at 3 p.m. Shallotte AAA defeated South Central, 17-0, on Sunday after an 8-1 loss to South Stanly on Saturday.
Andrews had a double in addition to the homer on Sunday. Eli Cox had a 2-run single.
Turner Coleman had 10 strikeouts in four and two-thirds innings against Pleasure Island.
