Host West Brunswick won the first set before visiting South Brunswick rallied for a 3-1 varsity volleyball win on Tuesday night in the opening match of the season for both clubs
Set scores for West were 25-19, 16-25, 23-25 and 24-26. The matchup was nonconference with the new NCHSAA league alignments.
The Trojans host South Columbus on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The Stallions started their season on Tuesday at home with a 3-1 win over East Bladen.
Senior Kelsey Lykins is the top returner for West in terms of kills per set with 1.8 as a junior.
