Trojans close Beach baseball by beating East Bladen

West Brunswick finished 2-1 in the Beach Diamond Invitational at Mike Alderson Field with a 13-7 win over East Bladen on Wednesday.

The Trojans improved to 9-8, outhitting the visitors, 11-3.

“It was a good bounce back win,” said West coach Greg Wrape. “Great job offensively. Good to go into our break on a high note.”

The Trojans were coming off a 6-3 loss to Richmond County in the semifinals on Tuesday. West Stably (17-0) topped the Raiders, 7-6, for the Beach championship on Wednesday.

Kaleb Faulders was 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs and an RBI against East Bladen (7-8). Cooper Wilson and Josiah Borton each had two hits and two RBIs.

Griffin Cox had a hit and two RBIs. Wesley Wilson and Matthew Argo each had a hit and an RBI. Fisher Hair had a hit and scored two runs.

Cooper Wilson, Hair, Cox and Borton all had doubles. Cayden Wood was hit by pitches twice.

The Trojans drew eight walks.

Cooper Wilson pitched six and one-third innings for the win. He allowed seven runs (five earned) with four walks and three strikeouts.

Faulders got the last two outs.
