West Brunswick hosts Ashley in a Carolina Coastal Conference football game tonight at 7 p.m.
It’s Senior Night for the Trojans, who are coming off a 21-0 win at Topsail that improved the record to 5-4 overall and 2-3 in league play.
West can assure a winning season and enhance its playoff seeding.
“There’s a lot on the line,” said Trojans coach Shane Handy, who added that the Eagles have a multiple package on offense.
Josiah Borton had eight keepers for 87 yards and two touchdowns last week. Jabari Cumbee ran 22 times for 96 yards.
West seniors listed on MaxPreps include K’Veon Griffin, Trey Evans, JaQuell Davis, Jude Surigao, Nick Graham, Jamon Holmes, Tony Sanchez, Zerrence Clarida, Maddie Richardson, Carmine Sleavensky, Zavier Lehr, Nick Brown, Cumbee, Josiah Sneed, Bailey Tripp and Rossell Sandoval.
Sanchez has been lost for the season and Brown may only play a few snaps, due to injuries.
The Trojans have an open date before the first playoff game on Nov. 7. Postseason brackets are scheduled to be released on Monday, Nov. 3.
“We’ll practice Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week,” Handy said.
