West Brunswick moving on with 64-43 win over Scotland

The West Brunswick varsity boys basketball team posted a 64-43 win over visiting Scotland County in the first round of the NCHSAA 6-A playoffs on Tuesday night.

Isaac Clarida had 22 points and 10 rebounds for the Trojans (17-10) who will visit Terry Sanford (18-6) on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. in the second round.

Kveon Griffin was recognized for scoring 1,000 career points in a ceremony with former West Brunswick star Cedric Simmons, who went on to play at N.C. State and the NBA.

Griffin totaled nine points, nine rebounds and 11 assists against the Scots (11-14).

Freshman Jacob Woodard added 10 points and five assists.
