West Brunswick continues play in the Carolina Coastal Conference tonight at Hoggard.
The Trojans are 4-1 overall and 1-0 in league play going into the matchup with the Vikings (4-0), who had a bye last week and will be playing their first CCC contest.
“We’ve got to play with good pad level on defense,” said West coach Shane Handy. “Make sure we line up properly to them. They run a lot of different formations.
“Offensively, we’ve got to run the football. We need to stay on our blocks a little better than we did last week.”
The Trojans are coming off a 21-16 win over Laney.
“We’ve really got to win special teams,” Handy said. “That’s going to be huge, special team situations. They do a good job with special teams.”
Handy’s attention has been divided this week between football and his father, who has been in medical care with a heart condition.
